Hey! This is my brand new project.
You might not be familiar with me. I mean, it’s been about a decade, so I wouldn’t expect you to. If you’ve been around for the last 15+ years then there’s a chance you do. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
After I let the Stoned Soda domain expire, and I bought a house, I didn’t have a whole lot of desire to create content. That changed with the revival of Spring football (AAF, XFL 2020, USFL, XFL 2023, and UFL), and now that Spring football is dead (to me) once again while the itch to create content is still here… it’s time to pivot back to music.
Anyway, enough of that. Like The Soda Shop and Stoned Soda, this project will see me focus primarily on fuzzy, psychedelic, and bluesy rock music with a little doom sprinkled in for good measure. You won’t find anything sludge or sludge-adjacent here. Think bands like Greenleaf, Sasquatch, Graveyard, The Heavy Eyes, All Them Witches, King Buffalo, Gozu, Lowrider, and more.
Ever come across whiskey reviews and see a bunch of specific tasting notes? If you’re looking for similar analysis of albums here then you’ll be disappointed. But if you have a short attention span or just want a good but general idea then this is the place for you.
